We are a purpose-driven studio, tackling today’s issues with insightful design and a desire to help build positive change in the world.

Together, we foster brands who aspire to be a force for good, combining commerciality and purpose at the heart of what they do.

Our Values

Intelligent Design

In a fast-paced world Partners value our ability to distil complexity into crisp, clean, purpose-led thinking. Strategic by nature and concept-driven, everything we design is a communication tool with a considered impact – from the big idea to the finest detail.

Positive Partnerships

We proudly wear our heart on our sleeve, and look to build lasting relationships with more experience-centric and ethically-minded brands. We believe that brands without purpose will ultimately fall behind, and so we work closely with teams to realise and grow new initiatives, as well as evolve strategically over time.

Experience

A positive customer experience promotes loyalty, encourages brand advocacy and is critical to the continuous growth of any business. We take a holistic approach to all projects in order to join the dots, drive engagement and build meaningful connections.

Building Legacy

We believe in designing solutions that create legacy, and have long-term opportunity for growth and implementation. Design that will scale with your business, while remaining relevant and authentic.

Democratising Design

We believe that access to creative and strategic services should not be a privilege limited to those with abundant resources. From non-profits to start-ups to large corporations, we structure projects to suit a specific business model and deliverables.

Our team

The wide-ranging skills and diverse backgrounds of our team are harnessed for the benefit of all of our Partners. As well as our in-house team, we also work with a hand-picked network of like-minded creatives including copywriters, developers, photographers, printers and more.

Toby

Toby founded TMC in 2015. He has worked with a roster of influential brands and organisations around the world, delivering expert consultancy and a proven knowledge of creative strategy and Brand. His belief in intelligent design and a personal approach has seen the Studio grow an impressive reputation already.

After graduating, Toby lost no time in establishing himself as Creative Director for London start-up accelerator JustAddRed, the brainchild of toptable’s founders and some of London’s leading tech experts. He was also invited to lead the design direction for award-winning start-ups PetsPyjamas and Positive Luxury. These busy few years fuelled Toby’s passion for growing businesses.

Quick thinking, insightful and with an exceptional eye for detail (although the team prefer to call it a certain OCD!), day-to-day Toby leads the studio in transforming brief-hitting concepts into commercially-driven brand experiences that connect with people in an authentic and lasting way. Because of this, Toby has worked with some of the world’s largest organisations, such as Unilever, Procter & Gamble, Ferrero and Coty; facilitating hackathons and workshop sprints for product innovation, brand strategy and international development.

Steve

A Graphic and Information Design graduate, Steve is TMC’s print and packaging guru and one of our Senior Designers. Having worked for various printers during his time at university, Steve knows the ins and outs of production, manufacturing and printing techniques, but still has a burning desire to learn more. He uses his wealth of knowledge to advise and inspire our Brand Partners on what can be achieved.

An avid cyclist in his spare time, Steve combined his love for riding by working in the sports industry for over ten years before joining TMC. He was responsible for all UK graphic design requirements for a selection of market leading global brands, as well as New Product Development. Specialist food or drink brands will also be in safe hands – Steve has worked widely with certification boards, such as the Soil Association, The Vegan Society and Coeliac UK. This all brings an invaluable experience of what goes into launching a product.

Powered by his daily cycle from Essex to the TMC offices in London(!) and his love of coffee, Steve’s favourite thing is a brief that requires him to not only work out what but how.

Jenny

A journalism graduate who has written for the likes of Elle and the Sunday Times, Jenny has an affinity with building something from nothing. Both at Zest and Runwild Media, she was brought on board specifically to launch new publications, having already established several new magazines at Archant.

Jenny turned from print media to marketing, joining celebrity florist, Wild at Heart, as Head of PR. Her experience of start-ups, combined with a talent for project management, led to her appointment as Head of Marketing and Partnerships at digital innovator PetsPyjamas. In addition to spearheading a successful marketing strategy, Jenny was responsible for establishing partnerships with leading brands such as Eurotunnel, Condé Nast and Henry Holland.

In charge of Projects & Partnerships at TMC, there’s more to Jenny than deadlines and meetings. She manages, nurtures and maintains all the relationships we build with our Brand Partners as well as raising her own two little ones with aplomb. In a nutshell, Jenny is our resident wonder woman.

Sebastian

As Master of the TMC Universe, Seb the Black Miniature Schnauzer (stage name: King of the Ring) keeps his paw firmly on the button. Born January 22nd 2016, he has proved precociously talented at chasing invoices, overseeing employee relations and keeping the office admin under control (it tastes quite good!). He also excels at meeting new Brand Partners, sealing deals, and ensuring all employees play hard as well as work hard. It’s a tough job, but Seb’s the dog to do it.
